Donner Backbeat Backbeat is the top model in Donner's range of electric drum kits, and it really lacks nothing, whether we're talking sound, features, quality or looks. It's a so-called 8-piece drum kit with 3 dual zone cymbals with "choke effect", a bass drum as well as a snare drum and 3 timpani, which are mounted with Mesh skins. All drum and cymbal pads are equipped with LED light effects that you can choose the color of. Sound module with touch screen, a variety of functions, over 1100 sounds and a rich library of songs that you can use for practice and the built-in teaching function. Also included is a bass drum pedal and hi-hat pedal, all of which can be mounted on the included sturdy "stand". Luxury and cutting-edge features Donner Backbeat comes with a sturdy aluminum stand and all the parts needed to mount drum and cymbal pads on it. But the innovation is that no cables are needed for the sound module, but instead for the small "plug boxes" located on the stands themselves. This means that you only need to manage and place short cables, as most of the cable lengths are mounted inside the rack. Another innovative feature is the built-in LED lights, which are integrated in the drums themselves as well as in the "bell" of the cymbals. You can decide the color of the light yourself, and it looks great both on a dark stage, in the practice room and in the living room. Dual zone pads and Mesh skins The 3 cymbal pads are all dual zone and have the "choke effect", which means you can play both on the edge of the cymbal and on the "bell", just like on a real cymbal. In addition, there is the choke effect which allows you to mute the cymbal quickly by squeezing your fingers around the edge of it. The snare drum and timpani are fitted with Mesh skins, which has several advantages. As well as making the drums look like acoustic drums, it also makes them feel more like playing acoustic drums. In addition, they have a much lower intrinsic noise level compared to the more common rubber pads still found on most electric drum kits. Intuitive sound module with touchscreen and companion app The sound module of Backbeat is equipped with a 7" touchscreen, from which you can easily and intuitively navigate through the many functions and sounds that Backbeat offers you. With over 1100 drum sounds and 100 complete drum kits to choose from, you also get 200 built-in exercises to help you optimize your technique and 50 demo songs to practice to. The sound module is designed as a mini mixer, and you get a complete mixing tool with 3-band equalizer, tuning and mute. From the touchscreen, you can control each pad individually and add various effects such as filters, compression and delay, and the module is fully compatible with DAWs and has built-in MIDI.
