A specially designed X-M bracing provides a wide sound and good projection (how the instrument throws the sound). A rich and long sustain that works well for both plectrum and fingerstyle playing. AAM50CE features our new A.I.R. Port construction. Acoustic - Information - Response A.I.R. Port is for better hearing for the guitarist. Holes in the rim towards you. It's a great feature. A clear trend among acoustic guitars, but no major brand offers it at an affordable price point. Plus, what the others have, is basically just a hole drilled on the body. Ibanez figured there had to be a better way for better listening.. After trying many different sizes and types of holes and designs, they settled on the perfect sound port design, placing angled blocks of wood that throw the sound out of the port. They also decided to apply it to a wide range of models. The body has solid Sitka Spruce top with sides and back of Sapele. Putting electronics, preamps and microphones into acoustic instruments is always a compromise with the acoustic sound of the instrument. On the AAM model, this compromise has been minimized by using a very compact active preamp. to affect the acoustic sound as little as possible.
