It can play "actively" for up to 50 hours on one battery, so you can enjoy great electric guitar sound in the included headphones anywhere. Or you can connect the HUSH-X to a regular guitar amp and play "passively" indefinitely. Audio capabilities The Donner HUSH-X can do the same things as a regular electric guitar. You have a humbucker pickup in the bridge position and a singlecoil pickup in the neck position. You have a three-way pickup selector, along with volume and tone controls - just like on a regular electric guitar. If you use the HUSH-X as a dedicated travel guitar, you can choose to play with headphones connected to the guitar's built-in amplifier, and here you get a great electric guitar sound that you recognize from a regular electric guitar. In this situation, you need to play in "active" mode, and here it is a 9V battery that provides power. A standard 9V battery can power this for up to 50 hours. Once you've reached your destination, you can choose to connect the HUSH-X to a regular guitar amp or an amp/multi-effect, just as you would a traditional electric guitar - and for this purpose, you'll need to set the HUSH-X to 'passive' location. Ergonomics and playability The HUSH-X does not weigh much and takes up no space when packed in the gig bag. But when you unpack the guitar and start playing music, you can choose to mount the included "jumpers", which give the HUSH-X roughly the same shape as a regular electric guitar. This means you can sit with the one you are used to. When you're done playing, you can easily remove the "straps" again, and the HUSH-X is ready to be packed into your bag or placed on the luggage rack above your flight seat. The headless design that makes the guitar so extremely compact also means you have to tune the guitar strings on the stand. This is as easy as you are used to on a regular electric guitar and just a habit that needs to be changed. The guitar strings can be intoned as you are used to, and you can adjust the string height, also as you are used to. This can be done with the included tool, which conveniently sits in a small pocket on the back of the guitar. It's also where you'll find the guitar battery. The neck has a comfortable and soft C-shape and it is progressively asymmetrical, which gives you the same feel as a good electric guitar and spares your wrist, so you can play the guitar for hours.
