The Thornton MK-40-A is perfect for parties, talks or other performances. You get the same powerful amplifier as in the Thornton MK-80, which can deliver up to 400 Watt stereo to your speakers, as well as all the necessary inputs, outputs and functions.
The MK-40 has 4 channels with XLR microphone inputs on all channels. You can control the sound individually on each channel with hi, low and effect tone controls, and you can pan each channel between the right and left speakers so you can create a proper stereo sound. Each channel has an override indicator that illuminates when the signal is distorted and phantom power for connecting condenser microphones. The overall sound image can be adjusted via the power mixer's 5-band equalizer as well as the built-in effects processor which can be used to add effects such as reverb and echo to the individual channels. If you have an extra effect that you would like to use, you can connect it to the MK-40 mixer's effect loop, there is also a tape input that can be used to connect a CD or MP3 player to the power mixer.
A good power mixer doesn't necessarily have to be expensive or complicated. Thornton is known for their excellent and affordable speakers, amplifiers and mixers and their power mixers are as high quality and impressive value for money as the rest of Thornton's range.
