American bronze and steel ensure that you get a durable string with good sustain and a clean tone. Blacksmith's computer-controlled winding technology gives the strings a very even winding and an even tension over the entire length of the string. The result is a string that is in tune stable, that intonates well and feels comfortable. The strings that are not wrapped are Sub-Zero treated, which gives a softer feel and a more uniform playing feeling across the strings. Blacksmith's 80/20 strings are made with an alloy covering of 80% bronze and 20% nickel. This alloy gives the string a very light and lively sound that is particularly suitable for recording or other situations that require a more present sound. The Micro Carbon Shield coating, AAOT, prevents oxidation and dirt build-up on the strings and results in a string that lasts longer than an uncoated string.
