* Tongue drum from Shelter * 13 inches (33 cm) * 15 tones * Including clubs, transport bag and textbook The Shelter TGD1315 is one of the larger tongue drums with a full 15 tones, where everything is included to get started with this cozy and pleasant instrument. Even if you have never played a tongue drum before or have some other musical background, you will immediately be able to play small melodies and create nice soundscapes on the Shelter TGD1315. A tongue drum is itself a fairly new instrument, although it is inspired by various ethnic and historical instruments. Tongue drums are also called tank drums, as the first known versions were made from small propane tanks before musical instrument manufacturers began mass-producing them in the form we know today. A tongue drum is a hollow and cylindrical drum with grooves cut into the top of the drum. When the drum is hit with mallets or fingers, the grooves vibrate and produce sound waves that create a unique, musical and very pleasant sound. Since the TGD1315 is a relatively large tongue drum, it gives an extra full and beautiful sound. Tongue drums have a very pleasant, soothing and meditative sound that is well suited for music therapy and as a musical instrument for relaxation and meditation. You can sit with it on your lap or have it standing in front of you on a table or similar. It can be played relatively loud if you use the included clubs, but it can also be played low and discreet if you use your fingers instead. In other words, the Shelter TGD1315 is an instrument that you can safely sit and enjoy on the sofa without drowning out the TV or disturbing others in the house. Shelter TGD1315 is great for people whose brains need a relaxing break from the many impressions and thoughts of everyday life
